KCC Treasure Hunt Championship 2010 July 16th Round 3 Organisers Steve Tweedale/Pete Ramsell (20 points) Leaving Birch eastbound and taking exit 22 before a run over the start of Pike End, competitors dropped down into Rishworth then took to the higher lanes on the run into Sowerby Bridge. An error here in the tulips caused confusion and led to an ultimate DNF for Kevin and Bernadette in the Volvo. Margaret and Nigel however were quick to spot the mistake and had a good run on to finish 4th in their Discovery. After Sowerby Bridge the route climbed again to reach the outskirts of Halifax before turning in the direction of Luddenden, then used back roads to reach Blackstone Edge. A run around the Lake using a herringbone for navigation brought crews to the motorway at Milnrow and then back to Birch. Alan and Chris Kitson in the BMW had a near perfect run to finish first, just ahead of Pete Tweedale and Lee Trickett who had one more Fail. New members Stephen and Matthew Broadbent squeezed into third on their second event. Next event on 10th September will be run by Terry Mills who swears he will take revenge on all the previous organisers! Results
