How it Started In 1951 a meeting took place at the Owd Betts public house between members of the Rossendale and Rochdale Motor Clubs who had four wheeled vehicles. Because their organisations were catering for two and three wheeled vehicles they could not follow the route on rallies and trials. They decided to form their own club to cater for motor sport as they thought it should be. Outside the pub is Knowl Hill so they decided to combine this name with the 'dale' that features in both township names, and so the club was born. Today The club meets every Tuesday Evening at the Milnrow Cricket Club in Rochdale, 2 minutes off Junction 21 on the M62, (see Location for map.) The meetings start at about 9.30pm and all are welcome to join us for a social gathering or for our annual treasure hunts and summer BBQ. |
